Wayne McCullough has withdrawn from the card for the next Hunky Dorys Fight Night at the Point, Dublin on June 23rd.
McCullough made the decision following a delay in confirming a suitable opponent for the bout. The Belfast native had agreed to fight Mexico’s Francisco Mateos earlier this week but a delay in confirming Mateos travel arrangements led to McCullough’s withdrawal.
Speaking regarding the withdrawal promoter Brian Peters said, “It’s a great shame that Wayne won’t be on the card. We worked very hard to secure the right kind of opponent for Wayne and finally came to an agreement earlier this week. Read the rest of this entry »

Ajose Olusegun has been waiting for 18 months for the chance to fight for a title and the opportunity finally arrives on Friday night when he fights Gary Reid for the vacant Commonwealth light welterweight title.
Last Friday Olusegun was one of the many TV spectators who witnessed Colin Lynes outpoint Motherwell’s Barry Morrison in the Scot’s first British light welterweight title defence.
Only 12 months ago Lynes had agreed to fight the still unbeaten Olusegun 19-0 (10) for the vacant Commonwealth title only for him to pull out 10 days before the bout. Read the rest of this entry »
