Napa Euro clash re-scheduled

Ian Napa’s first defence of his European bantamweight title against Malik Bouziane has been re-scheduled for Friday 20 March at a London venue to be confirmed. The pair were to clash on January 23 in Stoke until Napa was sidelined following a bout of flu over the Christmas period.
The 30-year-old Bouziane will enter the ring with a 10-1 (1) record and boxed five times in 2008. Read the rest of this entry »


Chisora and Sexton heading for heavyweight rematch

Derek Chisora and Sam Sexton, arguably the future of Britain’s domestic heavyweight division, are set to meet in a rematch for the vacant Southern Area title over ten rounds. Truscott to make first defence of Commonwealth crown against Simpson

Paul Truscott makes the first defence of his Commonwealth Featherweight title in Matchroom Sport’s next boxing show this Friday.

Truscott, 22, won the belt in May with a unanimous points win over Ghana’s Osumanu Akaba and now faces Scotland’s John Simpson at the Eston Sports Academy in Middlesbrough. Simpson, 25, will be hungry for success after losing a shot at the British title against fellow Scot Paul Appleby in June. Read the rest of this entry »


Unbeaten Walsh to defend Irish crown against Haughian

Irish Welterweight Champion, Billy Walsh wants it known that he’s not ducking Stephen Haughian – and to prove it he’s coming to what is effectively Haughian’s back yard next month to defend his title against the Lurgan man.

The two will clash at the Craigavon Leisure Centre on Saturday, February 7th and the undefeated Walsh is planning on keeping his title and keeping his perfect record intact. Promoter Brian Peters had thrown down the gauntlet to Walsh by accusing the Corkman of ducking Haughian but Walsh says he’s more than happy to step up to the plate. Read the rest of this entry »

David vs Quigley added to bumper Hayemaker bill in Liverpool

Paul David will defend his English super-middleweight crown against local favourite Tony Quigley on Hayemaker’s packed bill at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on March 28. The card will also feature Ryan Rhodes’ British light-middleweight defence against Anthony Small and Brian Magee defending his British super-middleweight title against another local fighter in former British champion Tony Dodson.

Maloney wins purse bids to stage Marsh vs Moran: Latest British title news

Promoter Frank Maloney has won the purse bids to stage the potentialy explosive clash between British super-bantamweight champion Matthew Marsh and English champion Mark Moran. The fight will take place closer to home for Liverpool’s Moran at the Leigh Indoor Sports Centre in Manchester on April 17.
