Dunne could Cruz to the world title

Art Pelullo, Banner Promotions and Tommy Egan Promotions have offered to help Bernard Dunne realise his world title dreams by offering the Dubliner a shot at Cristobal Cruz and his IBF featherweight title.

Mexican, Cruz (37-11-1) defends his title against rated French pugilist Cyrill Thomas (33-2-4) in St Quentin, France on Valentine’s night. Prizefighter: The light-heavyweights line-up announced

PRIZEFIGHTER returns next month – and this time the light-heavyweights get their chance to shine. This will be the fifth Prizefighter event and the thrilling format of three-round contests has captured the public’s imagination.

Once again the historic York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, is expected to be sold out on Friday, February 20 with all the action screened live on Sky Sports 1. Tigerish Edwards walks through Bloy

Local hero Chris Edwards set the Fenton Manor Sports Complex in Stoke ablaze with a torrid effort that reduced opponent Wayne Bloy to a shattered shell after four rounds to capture the vacant British and Commonwealth flyweight titles on Friday night on a Frank Maloney promotion.

Bloy officially retired on his stool at the end of the fourth due to a damaged right hand but in truth he was spared from an imminent stoppage at the hands of the relentless Edwards. Read the rest of this entry »
